Dr. Nebiyu Lera Alaro is a global health and nutrition expert with over two decades of experience serving vulnerable communities across more than 30 countries. Born in Gondar, Ethiopia, his journey from humble beginnings to international humanitarian leadership is a testament to resilience, purpose, and unwavering commitment.
He holds two master’s degrees and a PhD in Public Health, and currently works with international NGOs on missions that span Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean. His fieldwork includes life-saving programs in Nigeria, South Sudan, Kenya, Malawi, Serbia, Papua New Guinea, Sierra Leone, Libya, Sudan, and Haiti — among many others.
Dr. Nebiyu specializes in emergency response, nutrition systems, and sustainable health solutions. He has partnered with organizations such as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), UNICEF, and WHO, leading initiatives that empower local health workers and restore dignity to communities in crisis.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Nebiyu is a devoted husband to Kalkidan Abebe and a proud father to Haleluya, Tinbit, Amen, and Shalom — his greatest blessings and daily inspiration.
His life’s mission was born from a childhood vow: to become a doctor not just for Ethiopia, but for the world. Today, he continues to fulfill that promise — one life, one community, one mission at a time.
